AS565 Panther is a French Transport Helicopter that appears in Wargame: Red Dragon.
History[]
The Eurocopter AS565 Panther is a military version of the AS365 Dauphin with the same purpose of multi role helicopters. During the 80s, the French aerospace firm Aerospatiale decided to construct a military variant of the Dauphin with the rotorcraft meant to be a utility helicopter, to be used for troop transports, anti-tank and maritime operations. By February 28th, 1984, the military prototype, the AS365M took flight for the first time. 2 years later, Aerospatiale launched full development of the AS365M with anticipation of 400 being sold in the long run. While the early models used a Turbomeca Arriel 1M1 turboshaft engine, the Panther was fitted with the Turbomeca Arriel 2C turboshaft. The AS565 Panther is operated by Brazil, Bulgaria, France, Indonesia, Israel, Mexico, Morocco, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates. These 15 AS565 Panther were used in French Naval Aviation by Flotilla 36F.
China had received a local license production of the model and the Chinese would construct the Harbin Z-9, which was a spinoff from the original model.
