The BMD-2K is a Soviet Command Armor that appears in Wargame: Red Dragon.
History[]
The BMD-2K was the command variant of the BMD-2 vehicle and was fitted with an additional antennae. These were used in the BMDequipped VDV and Air Assault (DShB) formations. The Air Assault Battalion has a BMD equipped air assault company. The second series of the Air Assault Brigades has an air assault battalion equipped with BMD.
The BMD-2K is capable of mounting an ATGM launcher (Konkurs) IRL.
Overview[]
The stats of BMD-2K and BMD-1K are almost the same, including cost; With the only difference being that the main gun was changed from 76mm 2A28 to 30mm 2A42, and Autonomy is 450 km vs. 600 km. Considering that 2A42 can provide better survivability when facing enemy infantry, BMD-2K would be a more cost-effective option in small-scale maps.
It should be noted that BMP-1K also cost 130 points. The vehicle has a Front Armor of 3, but at a lower Speed. The armaments is slightly superior (2A28 + Malyutka), but it is kind of meaningless for CVs.
