Available to PACT forces, the BTR-70A is the last option of the Soviet APC series. This vehicle has only appeared in Wargame: European Escalation.
History[]
The BTR-70A in-game appears to be referring to BTR-70 Obr. 1982, which is an improved model with ZMZ-49-05 V-8 engines of each 120 hp instead of the original GAZ-49B 115 hp 6-cylinder engines.
Overview[]
The BTR-70A is the final option in its lineup (MG-armed APCs), which will additionally require the unlock of BTR-60PB, BTR-70 to unlock it.
Despite its impressive speed and improved armor, the armament of BTR-70A remained the same level with the 5-point BTR-60PAI, which means the 20-point cost to deploy this vehicle basically depends on its motility.
