The Bardelas (Hebrew: ברדלהס, meaning "Cheetah") is a Israeli Armored Personnel Carrier that appears in Nation Pack: Israel DLC of Wargame: Red Dragon.

History[]

"Bardelas" is the official designation for Israeli M113.[1]

Israel first seized several M113s from Jordanians during the 1967 Six-Day War, and subsequently began purchasing M113A1 from the United States in 1970/71. M113 entered Israeli service in the 1972 to replace Zachlam half-tracks. Besides the United States, Israel is the largest user of M113. Approximately 6000 M113s are in service in IDF during peak period.[2]

Although much more advanced than M3, IDF found M113s to be vulnerable in firefights because M113’s aluminum armor could only withstand 7.62mm bullets, and often catches fire after being hit with anti-tank weapons.

Overview[]

Bardelas is basiclly a M113A1 with two more 7.62mm MMGs, which provide more fire power and higher cost-effective as it still cost 5 points. Correspondingly, the drawback of M113A1, which is that only 1 Front Armor, is also applicable to Bardelas.

For IDF, an alternate option is the upgraded Zelda with 2 Front/Side Armor but lower speed.
