The Bokkop is a Rifle Team available to South Africa in Wargame Red Dragon.
History[]
Bokkop was afrikaans slang term that signifies “Buck head" which was the nickname for South African infantry. These infantry were equipped with a license-produced FN FAL designated R1 and locally modified Brens along with captured RPG-7. South Africa converted legacy Bren firing .303 to 7.62mm in 1970s due to arms embargo preventing more FN MAG which was the standard section weapon from being imported along with producing their own Machinegun design in SS-77.
Most of the South African Infantry had access to Buffel for transport. 8 South African Infantry Battalion and 4 South African Infantry Battalion were converted into mechanized infantry battalion in the mid 1980s.
