The Bokkop '90 is a Rifle Team available to South Africa in Wargame Red Dragon.
History[]
Vektor R4 was the South African assault rifle based on the IMI Galil rifle. FT5 was a South African replacement for LRAC F1 and RPG-7 as the infantry section anti-tank weapon which entered service in 1989. FN MAG replaced the World War II era Brens as the section machine gun. FN MAG were under weapons embargo so SS-77 were developed along with Brens converted to 7.62mm to provide additional section machine guns.
Before deployment of Ratels South Africa infantry were either foot mobile or mounted using Buffel or trucks.
8 South African Infantry Battalion and 4 South African Infantry Battalion were converted into mechanized infantry battalion using Ratel in the mid 1980s.
