The Cavalry Scouts is a United States Recon Team introduced in Wargame: Red Dragon. They were considered replaced the Mountaineers.
History[]
Cavalry Scouts are the reconnaissance specialists in the US Army. These troopers serve as the commanders' eyes and ears on the Battlefield. Cavalry Scouts work to obtain, distribute and share vital combat and battlefield information on the enemy and on combat circumstances and environmental conditions. Each Division has a cavalry squadron along with a corps level armored cavalry regiment.
In the M113 equipped cavalry platoon has a five man dismounts in the each scout section which had access to dragon. These served in the two ground troops of older heavy divisional Cavalry Squadron. With the introduction of the M3 Bradley the Divisional Armored Cavalry Squadron was reorganized into three ground troops mounted in M3 and a Air Cavalry Troop. 82nd Airborne has a ground light troop in its Cavalry squadron. Light divisions has two group light troops in the divisional Cavalry squadron.
Overview[]
Due to the more powerful Light Riflemen '90 making them obsolete, the Mountaineers have been renamed and re-rolled in Red Dragon, they are now a 5-men Recon Team unique in that they are the only recon team with an ATGM. They are also the only US infantry to be able to use the M113A1 Dragon as their transport.
