Deckungsgruppe (Cover Group) is a West German Fire Support Team that appears in Wargame: Red Dragon.
History[]
Carl Gustav serve as the primary Western German infantry anti-tank weapon along with Panzerfaust 44 during the Cold War. Carl Gustav replaced M20 during the 1960s. These were replaced by Panzerfaust 3 with Carl Gustav remaining in service for battlefield illumination. 5 and 6 series Heimatschutz brigades has their Jäger battalions has their 2nd and third platoons in the company equipped with Carl Gustav.
Deckungsgruppe was the designation for the fire support squad of a task organized German infantry platoon supporting the shock section and command section.
