The Diggers '90 are the regular infantry of the ANZAC faction in the early 90's. Due to a new system introduced in the Wargame: Red Dragon, the new Diggers got themselves new weapons. The portrait has also changed to reflect the change from old Olive Drab to AUSCAM.

History[]

Digger is a military slang term for soldiers from Australia and New Zealand. Evidence of its use has been found in those countries as early as the 1850s, but its current usage in a military context did not become prominent until World War I, when Australian and New Zealand troops began using it on the Western Front around 1916–17. Before World War I, the term "digger" was widely used in Australasia to mean a miner, and also referred to a Kauri gum-digger in New Zealand. 5th/7th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment was the first Australian Mechanized Battalion using organic M113A1 in 1976. Before hand Australian Infantry were mechanized using attached M113.
