The Fallschirmjäger '90 is the later-era prototype West German commando infantry that appears in Wargame: Red Dragon.

History[]

With Aufstellungsbefehl Nr. 21 am 3. Juli 1956 two Fallschirmjäger battalions were created 106 Ellwangen and 116 Kempten. During the Cold War each Korps has a Luftlande Brigade. I Korps has 27th Luftlande Brigade, II Korps has 25th Luftlande Brigade and III Korps has 26th Luftlande Brigade. Each of the active Fallschirmjäger battalion has two Parachute companies and two AT companies equipped with KraKa carrying TOW or FK-20. The reserve Fallschirmjäger battalion has three parachute companies. Fallschirmjägerbataillon 262 and Fallschirmjägerbataillon 263 had the Allied Mobile Force mission. 1. Luftlandedivision in "Operationsplan B" was planned to command 25th Luftlande Brigade, 26th Luftlande Brigade, Gebirgsjägerbrigade 23, two Jägerbataillone of the 10. Panzerdivision, a Panzergrenadierbataillon of the 4. Panzergrenadierdivision and various smaller assets to defend Eastern Bavaria.

The H&K G11 was an innovative assault rifle that fires caseless ammunition, intended to replace the G3 as the primary infantry weapon for the West Germany. However, due to the German reunification and many technical issues, it never entered use.

Overview[]

The Fallschirmjäger '90 is one of the best infantry available to BLUFOR. They are exceptionally good at killing infantry due to the high rate of fire of their weapons (In addition, the G11 reportedly shares some CQB buffs same with SMG type of weapons). They also boast a decise AT capability at short range and are thus capable of dealing with enemy armor in close proximity.

A stack of Fallschirmjäger '90 is able to eliminate any infantry it faces with the exception of napalm wielding troops such as the Soviet Spetsnaz.
