France, officially the French Republic, is a unitary semi-presidential republic in Western Europe.
In Wargame, France is a NATO faction whose vehicles are both accurate, fast but very fragile. They are at their best performing fast strikes, ambushes and hit-and-run tactics, but won't be in head-on engagements.
Background[]
Over the past 500 years, France has been a major power with strong cultural, economic, military and political influence in Europe and around the world. During the 17th and 18th centuries, France colonized great parts of North America and Southeast Asia; during the 19th and early 20th centuries, France built the second largest colonial empire of the time, including large portions of North, West and Central Africa, Southeast Asia, and many Caribbean and Pacific Islands.
Forged during the incessant colonial wars in the 50s and the 60s, French combat doctrines favor light units which are easily targeted, but powerful and fast, giving priority to movement, ambush tactics and lightning attacks.
Overview[]
France is well-suited for players who prefer hit-and-run tactics and fast-paced strategies. Attacking head-on will generally result in you getting either swarmed or simply destroyed as they aren't really durable but they compensate it for its accurate weapons, excellent speed for almost all of its vehicles (plus good autonomy). Aircrafts are diverse too as they have a napalm bomber unavailable to UK and West Germany (as they only have Alpha Jet that has no defense against enemy aircrafts or SAM) the 120-point Mirage 2000 RDI is one of the best affordable aircraft available to BLUFOR decks.
