G6-45 Rhino is a South African Self-propelled Artillery Piece that first appears in South African DLC of Wargame: Red Dragon.
History[]
Design and work on the G6-45 Rhino started in the 1970s to replace the Sexton which was being retired from service with artillery regiments of the SADF. The first prototype appeared in 1981 at the height of the South African Border War, with 4 models being tested and trialed. In 1987, the South African Government ordered the four G6s to support Operation Hooper. One suffered an engine failure while the other 3 made it to Angola. Production went between 1988 and 1999 and the G6 is now operated by South Africa, Oman and the United Arab Emirates. 61 Mechanized Battalion Group had a battery of G6 which replaced towed G5.
