Israel, officially the State of Israel, is a unitary parliamentary republic in the Middle East.

Israel appears as a playable BLUFOR nation in its respective nation pack DLC for Wargame: Red Dragon.

Description

A country basically born into its existence fighting, Israel so far defended its borders in a region surrounded by enemies. Maintaining a universal conscription system similar to Switzerland, Israel makes up for its limited manpower with technologically advanced weapons and well trained personnel.

Until the "Cherbourg Project" Israel obtained its weapons mostly from France but diplomatic crisis after the said incident, forced Israel to find another seller for its military needs, primarily United States.

In addition to military assistance from the United States, Israel has a well established weapons industry, capable of modifying already existing technology for their own use (such as famous Galil rifle, which is basically a modified version of Valmet Rk 62).

As a result, Israel has a well armed military consisting of powerful American technology, some vehicles captured and modified from Arab enemies from previous wars and some locally built, well-made weapons.

Tips and Tricks

While Israel is a pretty hard nation to beat it does come with pros and cons, don't let the few overpowered weapons fool you into thinking that they're immortal, if you have just the right tactics, you can beat Israel pretty easily, coming from a player who has play as and against Israel.

  • Israel has a pretty lacking infantry force, supplanted by their strong selections of APCs to support the infantry, this means that any 1:1 fight with most RedFor Infantry Israel will lose most of the time, for example, a Spetsnaz and VDV '90 combo will lay waste to any infantry and support the Israeli player can bring, or exploit the lack luster Infantry anti-tank of most Israeli infantry by bring tanks to support your infantry, make sure it's cheap but well armored and has a deadly gun or fire rate.
  • Israel has pretty mediocre long range SAMs. Compared to most RedFor nations and the US' Patriot, the only deadly anti-air Israel fields is the Machbet, although it's lacking in range, to exploit that, use ATGM planes to chip away the Israeli player's defenses, always target anti-air first.
  • The Barak II is not that deadly! Compared to the Su-27PU, most of the time it will get beaten pretty easily, although it is still quite deadly to anything but top of the line ASFs, Israeli decks are heavily reliant on air power, destroy the Israeli player's aerial capabilities, you win the game.
  • Be smart! Pretty obvious advice.
