This company was expanded to 26th Reconnaissance Battalion in September 13, 1961 in January 1964 was attached to Training Inspectorate of the Ministry of National Defense. The name change to 1 Samodzielny Batalion Szturmowy in May 8, 1964. In late 1960s companies of this battalion was attached to the military districts to form 62th, 56th and 48th Special Reconnaissance Companies.
In-game[]
Komandosi are some of the best elite infantry available to the Eastern Bloc and REDFOR as a whole. While they excel at killing enemy infantry units, they lack a good anti-tank weapon. Their RPG-16D, while it is very accurate and long-ranged for a LAW, will do little damage to most medium or heavy tanks. As such, Komandosi are best suited to urban fighting, when they are less likely to encounter enemy armour.
Despite this drawback, Komandosi are still a highly deadly unit. A quad-stack of them set loose in a town is the absolute dread of any defender: well-trained, well-armed and numerous, they will effortlessly slaughter any single enemy infantry unit in its path, with the exception of Royal Marines, their most direct NATO counterparts, as well as possibly anything that uses fire. Used in conjunction with the almost equally devastating Saperzy Szturmowi in an Airborne deck, they will happily storm just about any fortress. Unsurprisingly, Komandosi are a common sight in most Polish and Eastern Bloc decks, and ubiquitous in any tailored for offence.
