La Légion étrangère (French Foreign Legion) was created in 1831 to incorporate foreign troops in the French army. It's an elite corps of the French army composed mostly of Germans, Italians, and Belgians, as well as a few French. La légion étrangère is internationally renown and has great prestige.
In Wargame: European Escalation, Legion FAMAS are the same unit than Legion but they are equipped with the Famas and a new rocket launcher, LRAC F1.
History[]
La légion étrangère (French Foreign Legion) was created in 1831 by Louis-Philippe, king of the French from 1830 to 1848 during La Monarchie de Juillet (July Monarchy). The foreign legion was historically composed by the murderers and thieves who sought to escape their sentences.
Today, people enlist out of love of their country and to seize an opportunity to change their lives.
