The Light Riflemen '90 is the later era version of the Light Riflemen.

History[]

In Central European theater, most of the American infantry are mechanized to fight against the armored Warsaw Pact threat. Only the Berlin Brigade's three infantry battalions, 2-4th Infantry Battalion and Southern European Task Force's Airborne battalion are light infantry.

In the Northern Europe and Asian theaters were the areas where most of the American light Infantry formations were deployed. The 10th Mountain Division has contingency plan to be sent Norway. 101st Airborne Division and 82nd Airborne Division has three light infantry brigades with the 101st Airborne trained for Air Assault mission and the 82nd Airborne Division trained with the parachute mission. While units in the Pacific theater were mostly light infantry only two brigades of 2nd Infantry were mechanized.

Six Dragon teams were moved into the Company Headquarters. M240 were platoon weapon squad assets.

Overview[]

The Light Riflemen '90 is a light infantry squad available to the United States. It is the '90 variant of Light Riflemen, and comes at a decreased availability and an increased cost of 25 deployment points. The small arms loadout of Light Riflemen '90 is identical to that of Light Riflement '75, an M16 and M240 GPMG. However, Light Riflement '90 come armed with the M47 Super Dragon. The effectiveness of either weapon is dubious, as the base Dragon has 10AP and the Super Dragon has 15. However, the Super Dragon's base accuracy is 50% versus 35%, and combined with the much increased range of the Super Dragon (1925m versus 1575m) means that Light Riflemen '90 will have a far easier time hitting their target.

Regardless, Light Riflemen '90 can be effective at holding an area against an infantry push due to their Super Dragon and the M240, but aren't particularly effective at attacking more heavily armored vehicles like main battle tanks. This can be further improved by mixing them with Rangers who's optics will increase their standoff range. However their far increased cost and decreased availability limits their cost efficiency.
