M201 was a French slightly modified version of the American MD Jeep. 27,628 M201 were produced from 1955 to 1967, Most of these were used by the French Military
Most regiments has a reconnaissance platoon equipped with M201.
Divisional Scouting Squadron has three platoons each having two scout patrols each with two M201.
Light Cavalry Regiments has each of the Cavalry platoons equipped with 3 Jeeps along with their 3 AMX-10RC, ERC-90 Sagaie or AML-90.
