The MiG-21MF is a Polish Ground Attack Aircraft available to REDFOR decks that appears in The Millionth Mile DLC of Wargame: Red Dragon.
History[]
The MiG-21MF (NATO Reporting Name: FISHBED-J) is a single-engine, single-seat, supersonic fighter built by Mikoyan-Gurevich for the Soviet Union's Warsaw Pact allies. Entering production in 1970, the MiG-21MF is an export variant of the Soviet MiG-21SM, featuring an improved RP-22 radar and R13-300 turbojet engine. The MiG-21MF carries an internal cannon, has an improved combat load compared to earlier models of the MiG-21, and is compatible with short-range R-60 missiles.
120 MiG-21MF were delivered to the Lotnictwo Wojska Polskieg between 1972 to 1975.
Overview[]
The MiG-21MF is a relatively inexpensive attack aircraft available to Polish and REDFOR decks. Like the air-superiority MiG-21Bis, the MF features moderate ECM, an excellent turn radius, and high top speed. It is armed with a 23mm cannon and four S-24B high explosive rockets. The MiG-21MF is a choice platform for dealing with infantry and lightly armored vehicles. The S-24B's good explosive power, spread across four rockets, provides the commander with a powerful attack option for a relatively small price (85 points per aircraft).
The main drawbacks of the MiG-21MF are its low TOT, lack of an aerial armament apart from its gun, and moderate ECM. Given its low cost, however, these drawbacks are well balanced by the capabilities the aircraft provides.
