The Navy SEALs is a new special forces unit for the United States that first appeared in Wargame: Red Dragon.

History[]

The Navy SEAL Teams of the US Navy. SEALs stands for Sea Air and Land teams with many connections to the CIA Special Operations Group, Special Activities Division and possibly the semi mythical 'Contact Divisions' and 'Special Circumstances'. Many people consider the Navy SEALs to be the tip of the CIA's spear, for many... the last word in covert foreign policy.

For some reasons the Navy SEALs in Red Dragon is depicted using the AKM instead of CAR-15s. This is probably intentional as Special Forces do not use standard issue weapons and AK pattern rifles are known for their reliability in Asian jungles. This can also be because the Navy SEALs spend lots of time behind enemy lines and may seek to scavenge ammunition that the enemy uses for their weapons or to conceal their involvement in an attack by matching enemy ammunition during postop investigations. HAWK MM1 is a grenade launcher based on pre WWII Manville Gun which may or may not seen military service. Stoner 63 was a modular weapon system with this system being using as a SAW. as Mk 23 Mod 0 being replaced by M249.

Overview[]

In Wargame: Red Dragon, Navy SEALs serve as Recon Special Forces infantry with an emphasis on anti-infantry warfare with a Hawk MM1 Grenade Launcher and Stoner 63 SAW.

This unit acts quite similar with Polish Formoza: same with the Grenade Launcher, a better SAW, and Assault Rifles for primary weapon instead of SMGs, while available transports are much poor. Therefore, the drawback is identical: their anti-armor capability is limited that cannot even deal with 5-point APCs.

However, on the other hand, due to the poor performance of Delta Force, US commanders will need SEALs to won forest and urban combats in some situations.
