The Raketenjagdpanzer 1 was an anti-tank destroyer armed with a guided missile system and was the first such vehicle in service in West Germany.
History[]
The twin mounted launchers for the SS-11 anti-tank guided missles were the primary armament for the Raketenjagdpanzer 1. With ten missiles per vehicle, the crew had the theoretical ability to destroy ten enemy vehicles, although this was doubtful in practice.
The weapon was wire-guided and the crew continued to control the missile via a small periscope after launch. The SS-11 missile could penetrate 600 mm of rolled homogeneous armor.
Overview[]
Really bad accuracy with the ATGM, it's cheap enough to be vetted, though the ATGM itself is really slow, meaning the opponent can dodge it. You should personally avoid them as they'd only be useful in high numbers and in ambush against the rare opponents that never retreat.
It can be efficient if the opponent charges with transports as it has an MMG, unlike other ATGM platforms, and therefore can take down the infantry, or at least suppress them, after taking out their transport vehicle.
