Rooikat ZA-35 is a prototype South African Anti-Aircraft Artillery that first appears in Wargame: Red Dragon.
History[]
South Africa lacked a modern air defense system. So Rooikat was used as a chassis for a SPAAG mounted a ZA-35 turret equipped with Lyttleton Engineering M-35 35 mm guns. These Rooikat also carries a EDR 110 radar along with fully stabilized electro-optical gunner’s sight and tracking system with a high-resolution video camera and a laser rangefinder for optimal target identification and tracking. These were planned to be used to provide air defense to the mechanized battlegroups. Due to South Africa withdrawal from Angola in 1989 these Rooikat were not needed.
