In Wargame: AirLand Battle, Special Forces is a squad of Special Forces elite infantry, similar to Commando Squad infantry, trained for reconnaissance purposes. They are part of the recon class and are one of the two available infantry recon. They are armed with excellent infantry weapons and basic anti-armor weapons. Their speciality is effective infantry elimination while providing good sight of hostile units and average reconnaissance. Their lack of effective anti-armor weapons mean that they should be supported by specialised Anti-Tank Teams and/or friendly armor.
In Wargame: Red Dragon, Special Forces were renamed into Recon Team.
