The Spetsnaz VMF is a Soviet Special Forces that was first introduced in Wargame: AirLand Battle.

History[]

VMF is the abbreviation of Voyenno Morskoy Flot, the Soviet Navy

The Spetsnaz VMF, or known as the Special Purpose reconnaissance divers, are marine Special Forces. The Spetsnaz VMF is a branch of the Russian commando frogmen, the U.S.S.R.'s elite marine forces.

"AK-74SU" is a misnomer of the AKS-74U carbine.

Overview[]

Red Dragon[]

Despite their name, the Spetsnaz VMF fulfills a different function to those taken by their regular Spetsnaz and Spetsnaz GRU counterparts. Unlike these units, a Spetsnaz VMF unit is only a 2-man squad, making them more of a dedicated sniper/passive recon unit. They are armed similarly to Spetsnaz GRU, but have an inferior anti-tank weapon. Their sniper rifle is better though, as their VSS Vintorez rifle is suppressed, eliminating the noticeable sound and bullet trail created by most other sniper rifles.
