The UH-1C Hog is one of the many gunship helicopters that are available to the United States in the Wargame series, it first appeared in Wargame: European Escalation.

History[]

UH-1C Hog was one of the first helicopter gunships. With America's involvement in Vietnam, UH-1A and B were deployed. When acting as a gunship, the earlier variants were not able to keep up with the transports. To supplement this problem, Bell created the UH-1C to serve as an escort to the transport helicopters. These UH-1C had a T53-L-11 engine of late-production UH-1Bs along with other improvements. The "C" also introduced a dual hydraulic control system for redundancy in battle and an improved inlet filter system for the dusty conditions found in southeast Asia.

The UH-1C was introduced in September 1965. A total of 766 "C" models were completed with the bulk of production going to the US Army since UH-1C was only a interim Helicopter since Bell was starting production on AH-1 "HueyCobra" gunship

UH-1C Hog has the XM-3 weapon system known as Aerial Rocket Artillery with two 24-round rocket packs instead of the original 8-round rocket packs and quad machine guns of the M-6E3. XM-3 Weapon system was know as the Hog.
